The Canadian Association of Principals is pleased to offer several award programs:
Student Leadership Award
The Canadian Association of Principals and Lifetouch, Canada are proud to sponsor this award this year. The purpose of this award is to afford principals the opportunity to recognize one of their student leaders and to enter that student as a nominee for a national scholarship.
The C.A.P. Student Leadership Award scholarship is designed to provide the broadest possible base upon which to evaluate candidates. Effective 2010, Twelve scholarships of $750.00 each will be awarded. (One scholarship per CAP provincial/territorial affiliate) Only students graduating in their final year of high school are eligible for nomination.
Each school that wishes to participate in the scholarship program is asked to nominate one student leader who demonstrates outstanding leadership. Nominees should be in the top 20% of their class. Deadline to submit nominations is March 1.
Please note:, Ontario principal provincial association both in the public and separate systems (OPC & CPCO) have withdrew membership in CAP this year. This leaves CAP in the delicate position of not being able to accept student applications from Ontario for the CAP Student Leadership Award. This is regrettable but our structure is such that our members are our provincial and territorial principal associations and not individual members. Our process is that student nominees for the awards must be approved and nominated by a CAP member.
CAP regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
Please print the complete guidelines and nomination form and submit to your provincial association prior to March 1. A certificate of merit is available for you to download to award to the student you nominate.
