School Net News Network (SNN) - Canada's definitive website for student writing and journalism - SchoolNet News Network
SchoolNet News Network (SNN) is a free, multimedia student journalism
program/website open to K-12 students and teachers throughout Canada.
What does SNN offer teachers and their students?
SNN/RDR's mission is to connect Canadian students and teachers in a collaborative learning environment to stimulate student interest and participation in media education and journalism activities.  It encourages students to think critically about what they read, see and hear in newspapers, radio and television broadcasts and online media.
Through the SNN Newsroom and Mentorship programs, SNN helps your students develop good writing skills, information on ethical journalism practices as well as reporting and researching skills. It also provides an opportunity for students to link with professional journalists through their Mentorship Program.  The Classroom Section offers teachers step-by-step guide to bringing journalism into the classroom, lesson plans and activities and links to journalism teachers already involved with SNN.
Online publication and broadcast. Through its Monthly Edition section, the project allows student reporters to publish and broadcast their work in an emerging media form and in a safe educational environment. When SNN receives student articles they are reviewed and placed on the internet once reviewed and edited by SNN and its editors. Major editing required goes back to the student for revision.
    Contact SNN for further information.
